The Fair Work Information Statement which includes details of the National Employment Standards has been updated as a result of the insertion of five days unpaid family and domestic violence leave (in a 12-month period). The changes have also been incorporated into the General Retail Industry Award 2010.

The General Retail Industry Award 2010 allows for the employment of school students during normal school periods for as little as 1 ½ hours per day. However, those minimums do not apply during school holidays, outside of normal school days, such as weekends or in between leaving school and commencing a higher form of study.

NANA has repeatedly impressed upon NSW Lotteries/Tabcorp of the need to consider the impact of delayed banking transactions and funds availability due to public holidays and weekends. The delays are usually worst around Easter and Christmas/New Year, however any public holiday can severely impact the availability of funds, especially those arising from EFTPOS transactions.
