All of Tabcorp’s proceeds from the regular Saturday Lotto draw on 25 January will be donated to the bushfire relief effort, which is expected to be in excess of $1.5 million. The draw will be known as the Bushfire Benefit Draw.
Unfortunately, NANA has received reports that bushfire relief donation tins have been stolen from the counters of Newsagents. Each instance reported has placed the value of the stolen donations at $300+.

The NSW Small Business Commissioner has extensive resources available to small businesses impacted by bushfires.
Newsagents impacted by natural disasters and emergencies have a number of options as to how they deal with staffing issues. Different Award, National Employment Standards and Fair Work Act provisions apply to full time, part time and casual employees.
The NSW Small Business Commissioner has released information to assist small businesses impacted by bush fires to access financial support. Newsagents may qualify for a Disaster Recovery Grant payment and may also be eligible for other support from the Commonwealth Government.
NANA has contacted major suppliers to Newsagents in bush fire impacted areas. Many Newsagents have experienced closures, fire damage, electricity and water cuts and missed deliveries due to road closures. Some Newsagents have experienced difficulties because normal banking procedures have been interrupted leading to insufficient funds in accounts to deal with direct debits and account sweeps.
