ACT Government slow to set up hardship fund

Last week NANA advised Newsagents in the ACT that their government had established a hardship fund for casual and part-time workers who are not eligible for other forms of financial support or who do not have leave entitlements and who are unable to temporarily work under a COVID-19 direction and health guidance.

New Fair Work Information Statement available

NANA has updated its conditions of employment guide on the National Employment Standards and the Fair Work Information Statement. The new version of the statement reflects the outcome of the High Court decision in the Mondelez Australia case. The decision confirms the traditional approach to the accrual of and payment for personal and carer’s leave (sick leave).
