NANA is well aware of the major problems being created for Newsagents by the outage that has impacted some Tyro EFTPOS terminals. The problems first came to light on 5 January 2021 and 8 days later some Newsagents and other retailers are still without operating EFTPOS terminals.

Several Newsagents from across NSW and the ACT have received notifications from NSW Lotteries/Tabcorp advising they have not received confirmation that the Newsagency has a current mandatory lotteries policy in place. In NSW and the ACT mandatory lotteries insurance normally renew on 30 June/1 July each year.

Newsagents can now book into retail roadshow events to be conducted by NSW Lotteries/Tabcorp from 1 to 12 February 2021. Participation in roadshows is a compliance requirement of the lotteries remuneration system.
