NANA has just accepted an invitation to meet face-to-face from NSW Minister for Finance and Small Business, The Hon Damien Tudehope. Minister Tudehope has been the New South Wales Minister for Finance and Small Business since April 2019. NANA has worked closely with the Minister and his Government colleagues through the COVID-19 pandemic period and NANA believes a face-to-face meeting will strengthen the relationship NANA enjoys with the NSW Government and the Minister.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic period NANA has worked closely with the NSW Government, especially with Ministers Tudehope, Dominello and former Treasurer and now Premier Perrottet. The close working relationship has ensured that Newsagencies have been able to trade throughout the pandemic, supporting their local communities and supporting employment across the state.
In its meeting NANA will focus on the costs of doing business, changes to workers compensation legislation to reduce costs to Newsagencies, the behaviours of big businesses, particularly in franchising and how franchisors penalise small businesses over relatively minor matters and the need for continued Government support for small and family businesses.
NANA will also seek the Minister’s support for an extension of the Community and Small Business CCTV Fund’s application to all Newsagencies across the state.
NANA will keep Members informed on updates which arise from this important relationship with the Minister and the NSW Government.
