Newsagents in NSW are reporting that VANA and NLNA, the promoters of Amazon parcel lockers are cold calling to try to get Newsagents to take the lockers on. NANA thinks this is a hard sell, particularly since the income for Newsagents is so low and they will not produce their alleged “research” which supports their promise of dramatically increased foot traffic. The callers forget to tell Newsagents that if they take on Amazon lockers they are giving Amazon control over their lease. And then they also forget to say they get $1,000 per locker whilst the Newsagent gets as little as $55 per month for giving up floor and wall space which could probably be used to better generate higher margin sales.
