In what has been a successful campaign spearheaded by NANA, New South Wales Lotteries Corporation Pty Ltd/Tabcorp Holdings Ltd are now advising Newsagents to ignore their previous demands about restricting the age of employees who are able to sell lotteries products.
At the time of writing, the proposed change to the Operations Manual is still in place on Retailers Web, but NANA will strongly advocate for its immediate removal.
Last Friday NANA warned New South Wales Lotteries Corporation Pty Ltd/Tabcorp Holdings Ltd that if it didn’t withdraw the age restriction by close of business on 20 October 2021 (today), NANA would launch an action in the Fair Work Commission as the proposal was also against the federal industrial relation law. The ink has just dried on NANA’s draft notification to the Fair Work Commission so we will keep it on file just in case the franchisor comes back with similarly offensive age restrictions.
Any NANA Member or Newsagent who wishes to discuss this or any other lotteries related matter is invited to contact NANA on 1300 113 044 or by email to nana@nana.com.au.
