The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has released a draft determination detailing proposed changes to the General Retail Industry Award 2020 which, when finalised, will see junior rates of pay limited to Retail Employee Levels 1 to 3 under the Award. The practical impact of the changes will be that any junior employee working in a position as defined/described in Schedule A – Classification Definitions of the Award for Retail Employee Levels 4 to 8 will be entitled to full adult wages for all time worked regardless of their age or experience.
