NANA regularly reminds Members of the importance of checking invoices and account statements to ensure what they are being charged by suppliers is accurate and especially reflects credits which should be applied to the account. It is often more difficult to track errors where suppliers including newspaper publishers use direct debits to collect account payments.
NANA has been regularly in contact with Nine Publishing to establish the extent of the systems limitations caused by the cyber attack the publisher suffered last weekend. Many of the normal systems including those which interface with Newsagents remain inaccessible and Nine is having to develop work-arounds wherever they can.
The most recent update from Tyro on the outage of EFTPOS terminals is more than 3 days old. NANA continues to receive reports from Members that Tyro terminals are going down, three weeks after the initial problems surfaced.
NANA has been keenly watching the impact of the Tyro terminal outage experienced by many Newsagents over the past 2+ weeks. According to Tyro, there are still retailers who have not had their Tyro terminals updated to overcome the “bricking” issue which arose over software problems.
